Trading Buddy 101

Welcome to Trading Buddy, the platform designed to help you succeed without risking your own money!

We know that not everyone has the funds needed to fully execute their trading strategies. That’s why Trading Buddy is here – offering a unique opportunity for you to earn rewards based on your skills, without needing a big bankroll.

Trading Buddy gives you the chance to put your trading skills to the test and work towards achieving Trading Buddy Status.

To begin your journey, you’ll first select the challenge that best suits your needs.

We provide a variety of challenges, ranging from £/$/€ 1,000 to £/$/€ 50,000, so you can choose the one that fits your approach best.

Once your challenge account is ready, the process is simple: place at least 15 picks across your favorite sports while aiming for a 33% return. Meet these requirements, and you’ll progress to Phase 2.

Phase 2, also called the final verification, is much like the first stage: complete another 10 picks while maintaining a 33% return to advance to the funded stage.

Keep these key rules in mind throughout the challenge: if you lose 10% or more of your account in a single day or lose 20% or more overall at any point, your challenge will automatically end.

Passing or failing is based on the outcomes of the sequence of events.

Once both phases are complete, you will have reached “BIG LEAGUES” and earned a funded account. At this point, you can start earning rewards based on your successful picks.

Welcome aboard Trading Buddy! May your well-planned strategies lead you to great success!

Responsible Betting Limit

Single Win Outcome Limit: 30% of your total profit target.

Q: What does the Responsible Betting Limit mean?

A: The Responsible Betting Limit Rule ensures that no single win outcome exceeds 30% of your total profit target.

Example: If your profit target is £/$/€ 330, then the maximum amount you can earn from a single bet is £/$/€ 99 (30% of £/$/€ 330).

Q: Why are there limits on single-win outcomes?

A: These limits are set to discourage high-risk betting and ensure that our bettors practice responsible and professional risk management. By capping the profits from a single bet and restricting the odds, we promote a thoughtful approach to betting that is vital for long-term success in our program.

Q: How is my maximum profit target calculated?

A: The maximum profit target is determined by a predefined percentage of your initial account balance, and varies by stage:

Stage 1 (Academy Challenge): 33% of the initial account balance

Stage 2 (Final Verification): 33% of the initial account balance

Stage 3 (BIG LEAGUES) – 1st withdrawal: 35% of the initial account balance

Stage 3 (BIG LEAGUES) – 2nd withdrawal: 45% of the initial account balance

Stage 3 (BIG LEAGUES) – 3rd and later withdrawals: 50% of the initial account balance

Examples by Stage (assuming a £/$/€ 1,000 initial account balance)

Stage 1 or 2:
Profit target: 33% (£/$/€ 330); A single win outcome cannot exceed £/$/€ 99 (30% of £/$/€ 330)

Stage 3, 1st withdrawal:
Profit target: 30% (£/$/€ 350); A single bet cannot exceed £/$/€ 122.50 of profit

Stage 3, 2nd withdrawal:
Profit target: 45% (£/$/€ 450); A single bet cannot exceed £/$/€ 157.50 of profit

Stage 3, 3rd+ withdrawals:
Profit target: 50% (£/$/€ 500); A single bet cannot exceed £/$/€ 175.00 of profit

Q: Can I place parlays with a single win outcome higher than 30%?

A: No. Your parlay bets also have to comply with the 30% limit.

Examples (assuming a £/$/€ 1,000 initial account balance and Stage 1 or 2):

Parlay 1 (allowed): Match 1 odds: 1.30, Match 2 odds: 2.20, Parlay odds: 2.86, Pick: £/$/€ 30, Win outcome: £/$/€ 85.8

Parlay 2 (not allowed): Match 1 odds: 1.30, Match 2 odds: 2.20, Parlay odds: 2.86, Pick: £/$/€ 60, Win outcome: £/$/€ 171.6 – this parlay would not be allowed as the win outcome exceeds 30% of the maximum profit target for stage 1 or 2, which is £/$/€ 99 (30% of £/$/€ 330).

Q: What happens if I try to bet on a single win outcome higher than 30%?

A: The system automatically prevents placing bets with a single win outcome higher than 30%. This means you cannot accidentally or intentionally exceed this limit. Any attempt to place a bet on higher odds will result in an error message, ensuring that all bets comply with the rule.

For any questions or further clarification on these rules and how they impact your betting strategy and profit calculations, feel free to contact us. We are here to help you understand and navigate these guidelines effectively.

Parlays

Q: What is a Parlay?
A: A parlay is a type of pick that involves combining multiple individual picks into one single pick. To win a parlay, all the individual picks within the parlay must be correct. The advantage of a parlay is that it often offers higher payouts compared to placing each pick separately, as the odds of winning decrease with each additional pick included. However, the risk is also greater since if any one pick within the parlay is incorrect, the entire parlay is lost. Parlays are popular in sports betting and can involve various types of picks, such as point spreads, moneylines, and over/unders.
Q: How do parlays work on Trading Buddy?
A: On Trading Buddy, users can place parlay picks with a maximum line odd of +2500. This cap is designed to promote good strategic behavior, ensuring users make thoughtful decisions when building their parlays. It’s essential to keep this maximum line odd limit in mind when constructing your parlay picks on Trading Buddy.
Q: What if one of my picks in the parlay results in a push?
A: If a pick in your parlay ends in a push, meaning it results in a tie or draw, that particular pick will be removed from the parlay. The parlay odds and potential payout will then be recalculated without the pushed pick, ensuring fairness and accuracy in determining the outcome of your parlay on Trading Buddy.

Account Management Policy

To ensure a fair and transparent environment for all participants, Trading Buddy has strict guidelines on account management.

Q: Why is account management restricted to individual access?

A : At Trading Buddy, account management is strictly limited to individual access. This policy is designed to maintain fairness, integrity, and accountability within our challenges. By preventing multiple users from accessing the same account, we are able to safeguard the standards of competition and avoid any potential misuse or manipulation.

Q: What is Trading Buddy’s account management policy?

A: Account sharing, passing, or management by multiple users is strictly prohibited. If we detect a substantial number of identical picks across different accounts, we will conduct an in-depth investigation using our monitoring filters. Violating this policy can lead to the termination of the involved account.

Q: What happens if the account management rules are violated?

A: If our system identifies a violation of the account management policy, such as multiple users making similar picks, an investigation will be conducted. Depending on the outcome, the account may face termination. It is important for users to adhere strictly to these guidelines and avoid any form of account sharing or third-party management.

For any questions or further clarification about our account management policy, please feel free to reach out to us. We are committed to providing an environment that is fair, transparent, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

How to Sports Pick 101

Sports Picking Explained
Sports picking comes in various forms, allowing participants to wager money on specific outcomes and earn rewards if those outcomes occur. The most common types of picks include:
Moneyline Pick: Predicting the outright winner of a game.
Spread Pick: Predicting whether a team will win or lose by a certain number of points.
Parlay: Combining multiple outcomes into one single pick.
In addition to these popular options, there are prop picks, which focus on specific events, like the number of points a player will score. Sports picking is diverse and caters to a wide range of preferences.
For both beginners and experienced pickers, sports picking adds an extra thrill to watching games, providing more excitement no matter the final result.
Learn the Terminology
Understanding the terminology is crucial for newcomers. There are numerous phrases and terms to become familiar with, but our beginner-friendly guide breaks down the basics of each type of pick, helping you feel prepared to participate and win.
Understanding Odds: A Beginner’s Guide to Picking
For beginners, understanding odds can seem challenging. Platforms present odds in different formats, such as American, decimal, or fractional odds. This guide will help simplify how to interpret odds and understand what to expect in terms of payouts.
Exploring Odds
Odds quantify the likelihood of various outcomes in a sporting event. In sports picking, odds are often expressed as a ratio, and can be presented in different ways:
American Odds: Expressed around a £/$/€ 100 pick. Negative odds (e.g., -120) indicate how much you need to pick to win £/$/€ 100, while positive odds (e.g., +120) show how much you win on a £/$/€ 100 pick.
Decimal Odds: Displayed as a decimal, these odds are simpler to calculate. Multiply your stake by the odds to determine potential winnings.
Fractional Odds: Common in many countries, fractional odds (e.g., 2/1) show the ratio of the potential profit to the amount picked.
Understanding how to interpret these odds will help you make informed decisions and maximize your potential returns.
True Odds vs. Implied Odds
True Odds: Reflect the actual probability of an outcome.
Implied Odds: Derived from sportsbook odds and can help you spot value opportunities.
Types of Picks
Moneyline
A moneyline pick focuses solely on which team will win, without considering the point spread. For example, odds of +150 mean that picking £/$/€ 100 would yield £/$/€ 150 in profit if the team wins, whereas odds of -150 mean you would need to pick £/$/€ 150 to win £/$/€ 100.
Spread Picking
Spread picks involve predicting whether a team will win or lose by a specific margin, also called covering the spread. For example, if the Giants are set at +3.5, they must win or lose by fewer than 4 points to cover the spread.
Over/Under
An over/under pick is a wager on the total value of something happening in a game, such as points scored or yards gained. You pick whether the actual value will be over or under the set value.
Parlay
A parlay combines multiple outcomes into a single pick, and all picks must be correct for the parlay to win. The odds for each pick are multiplied together, resulting in potentially higher payouts but also higher risk.
For example, if you pick Dallas at -120 odds and Miami at +150 odds, the combined odds would be +450. If both teams win, a £/$/€ 20 pick could earn £/$/€ 90.
Calculating Winnings and Implied Probability
American Odds: For negative odds, the amount needed to pick to win £/$/€ 100 is expressed, while positive odds show the winnings for a £/$/€ 100 pick.
Decimal Odds: Multiply your stake by the decimal value to determine your total payout.
Fractional Odds: Multiply your stake by the fraction to determine potential winnings.
Disclaimer on Payouts and Profits
Payouts and profits can vary slightly due to rounding or different calculation methods. The examples provided are for illustrative purposes and may differ slightly from actual outcomes.
By understanding these basics of sports picking, you can start making more informed decisions. If you need help calculating payouts, consider using our odds calculator. Happy picking!

Minimum straight odd: 1.4 / -250

Why this rule? We want to offer a meaningful betting experience where risk and reward are balanced. Extremely low-priced odds provide almost no entertainment value or payout potential, so we restrict them to maintain a healthier and more engaging betting environment. Our minimum odds rule follows common industry standards used by major sportsbooks to ensure consistency, fairness, and regulatory compliance. Bear in mind that this rule applies only to straight/single bets, not to parlay/multi bets.

2-Event Parlays: Minimum Odds Rule
To maintain a high standard of value within our multi-bet offerings, each selection in a 2-event parlay must feature minimum odds of 1.30 (-333). By requiring a baseline level of competitiveness for each leg, we ensure that your doubles provide a genuine step up in potential returns compared to single bets, keeping the thrill of the parlay alive.

3-Event Parlays: Minimum Odds Rule
For 3-event parlays, we set a minimum odds threshold of 1.25 (-400) per event. This rule is designed to encourage strategic selection building. By filtering out “ultra-heavy” favorites that offer negligible impact on the total payout, we focus the experience on rewarding insightful sports knowledge and calculated risk-taking across your triple-play tickets.

4+ Event Parlays: Strategic Flexibility Rule
Our 4+ event parlays offer a unique balance of structure and freedom. To qualify, at least three selections must meet the minimum odds of 1.25 (-400). Once this core foundation is met, there are no odds limits on the remaining legs of your parlay. This allows you to anchor your bet with solid value picks while giving you the creative liberty to add any additional “boosters” or favorites you choose, no matter how low the odds.

Fair Play

Players are not allowed to exploit wrong or outdated odds—this applies to both live and prematch betting.

Any attempt to place bets using old or inaccurate odds will result in the affected bet being voided, and players will be disqualified from the program without any refunds. If such instances are detected, players must report them immediately.

We reserve the right to correct or cancel any bets affected by outdated or incorrect odds, even days later, and adjust account balances or payouts as needed.

Any misuse of old odds will be investigated, and such behavior may lead to further action, including account suspension or permanent termination. Remember, all bets are checked before payouts or when reaching targets, so cheating is pointless. We only accept participants who respect the principles of fair play.

Betting Rules

  • Correct Odds Only: All bets must be placed using the current, accurate odds provided by our platform. Wrong or old odds are strictly forbidden.
  • Report Errors: If you notice any incorrect or outdated odds, you must report them immediately. Using these odds to gain an advantage is considered cheating.
  • Post-Bet Corrections: We may correct or void bets—even days later—if we find they were placed using old or wrong odds. This includes adjusting payouts or account balances.
  • Consequences: Anyone who repeatedly exploits incorrect odds will be disqualified from the program without refunds.
  • Fair Play Checks: We review bets before payouts or when players reach certain targets. Our goal is a fair environment for everyone, so only honest play is welcome.

Point Spreads

Point spreads in sports picking refer to the predicted margin of victory or defeat between two teams. It’s a tool used to level the playing field by assigning points to the underdog and subtracting points from the favorite. These spreads are intended to generate balanced wagering interest by narrowing the perceived skill gap between teams in a sports competition.

last updated on 12th of January 2024

Over & Under

Over and Under in sports picking refers to predicting whether the combined score of both teams in a game will be higher (over) or lower (under) than a set total determined by the sportsbook. This type of wager focuses on the total points, goals, or runs scored in a game, allowing sports pickers to forecast if the actual score will surpass or fall short of the predetermined benchmark.

Money Line

The money line in sports picking represents the odds on a team winning the game outright, without considering the point spread. It’s a straightforward way of wagering on the winning team, where odds are assigned to each team based on their perceived chances of winning. The money line allows sports pickers to bet on the team they believe will emerge victorious in the match.

What Does -110 Mean?

In sports picking, -110 represents the odds or pricing for a particular pick. It means that to win £/$/€ 100, the picker needs to risk £/$/€ 110 on the selection. This is a common way sportsbooks present odds, indicating both the risk amount and the potential payout for a successful pick. The negative sign (-) signifies the amount to risk, helping pickers understand the potential return on their chosen selections.

What is a Pick?

In sports picking, a “prop” or proposition pick refers to a wager placed on a specific aspect or event within a game that may not necessarily affect the overall outcome. Proposition picks can involve various elements within a game, such as which team scores first, the number of goals or points scored by a specific player, the duration of the national anthem at a sporting event, or specific player statistics like passing yards in football or three-pointers made in basketball. Props provide a wide range of sports picking opportunities beyond the game’s final result, allowing pickers to wager on specific occurrences or details within a match or event.

What is a Parlay?

Q: What is a Parlay?
A: A parlay in sports picking is a single pick that combines multiple selections or picks into one wager. To win a parlay, all the chosen selections must win. Parlays offer higher potential payouts compared to individual picks, as the odds multiply together for each added selection. However, if any of the chosen selections within the parlay loses, the entire parlay pick is typically considered lost. It’s a higher-risk, higher-reward type of sports pick where success depends on the accuracy of all combined picks.

Stage 1 or 2: Profit target: 33% (£/$/€ 330); A single win outcome cannot exceed £/$/€ 99 (30% of £/$/€ 330)
Stage 3, 1st withdrawal: Profit target: 30% (£/$/€ 350); A single bet cannot exceed £/$/€ 122.50 of profit
Stage 3, 2nd withdrawal: Profit target: 45% (£/$/€ 450); A single bet cannot exceed £/$/€ 157.50 of profit
Stage 3, 3rd+ withdrawals: Profit target: 50% (£/$/€ 500); A single bet cannot exceed £/$/€ 175.00 of profit
Q: Can I place parlays with a single win outcome higher than 30%?
A: No. Your parlay bets also have to comply with the 30% limit.
Examples (assuming a £/$/€ 1,000 initial account balance and Stage 1 or 2):
Parlay 1 (allowed): Match 1 odds: 1.193, Match 2 odds: 2.209, Parlay odds: 2.635, Pick: £/$/€ 30, Win outcome: £/$/€ 79.06
Parlay 2 (not allowed): Match 1 odds: 1.193, Match 2 odds: 2.209, Parlay odds: 2.635, Pick: £/$/€ 60, Win outcome: £/$/€ 158.12 – this parlay would not be allowed as the win outcome exceeds 30% of the maximum profit target for stage 1 or 2, which is £/$/€ 99 (30% of £/$/€ 330).

Over & Under

Over and Under in sports picking refers to predicting whether the combined score of both teams in a game will be higher (over) or lower (under) than a set total determined by the sportsbook.
